100 YEARS OF ALASKA HOCKEY

Follow the University of Alaska Nanooks Hockey team as they fight to win the Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup.

“In the Trenches: 100 Years of Alaska Hockey” was produced Isabella Colello in her role the University Relations department at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The concept for the documentary was developed by Paul Burke and Shawn Jones, two alumni who were on the original NCAA Alaska Hockey team in the 1980s, in celebration of the team’s centennial year.

The film follows the current Alaska Hockey team as they fight to win the Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup, while also taking the viewer back through the program’s 100-year history.

In the Trenches hopes to show the world the resiliency and strength of Alaska hockey. Alumni, fans and current athletes have said that the film is a true testament of what it means to be an Alaska Nanook.
